The action is part of the promotion in third countries in which 14 wineries of the DO participate

The Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin (DO) has launched its international initiatives by offering a masterclass in London in partnership with Decanter. The event was led by Master of Wine Beth Williard and Inés Salpico, editor of Decanter Spain.

During the session, attendees enjoyed a welcome tasting of our native white grape variety, Tardana. Williard then provided context about the Designation of Origin from which the wines they were about to taste originated.

A total of seven wines—two whites, one rosé, and four reds—were the stars of the evening. Williard and Salpico discussed the characteristics and potential of the wines presented by the participating wineries: Chozas Carrascal, Finca San Blas, Pago de Tharsys, BVC, Neleman Wines, Vegalfaro, and Faustino Rivero Ulecia.

Fourteen wineries are participating in this international promotion project, and seven of them were the first to shine in this masterclass. A second edition will be held in the fall to promote the remaining seven wineries.

Thanks to this event, attendees were able to discover the unique characteristics of our region, sample a selection of white, rosé, and red wines, and learn more about the Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin (DO) and brand.
