The headquarters of the Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin Regulatory Board was once again chosen by the Peñín Guide as the venue for a wine tasting event featuring wines from our region.
During the event, a total of 93 wines were tasted, presented by 26 wineries from the Utiel-Requena DO. Specifically, 22 white wines, 10 rosés, 60 reds, and 1 sweet wine were sampled, reflecting the diversity and richness of the territory. Wines from a wide range of vintages, from 2017 to 2025, were tasted.
This tasting provided an opportunity to highlight the personality and quality of the wines produced under the Utiel-Requena DO seal, with the Bobal variety playing a prominent role, present in 39 of the wines presented.
The high participation of wineries demonstrates the sector’s interest in being featured in one of the leading national and international wine guides, whose scores are a key criterion for both consumers and professionals.
The tasting was conducted by Tatiana Rivamar and led by the Regulatory Board’s certification director, Diego Pérez.
With initiatives like this, the Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin continues its work promoting, recognizing, and raising the profile of its wines, wineries, and winegrowers, reinforcing its identity and market position.
